Retro Space Party
For Georg’s milestone 40th birthday, his family and friends wanted to go beyond the ordinary and create an unforgettable experience. Inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, we designed a sensational Retro Space celebration at the Belvedere Restaurant, transforming a classic venue into an immersive cosmic journey.
The venue was reimagined with thousands of balloons, glowing retro TVs transmitting bespoke video content, and the unmistakable voice of HAL 9000 setting the scene. Custom 1960s-style furniture and linens gave dinner a vintage feel, while AI-generated centrepieces turned Georg’s personal photographs into cinematic space adventures. Every element was carefully curated to merge nostalgia with futuristic flair.
From the very beginning, guests were transported into another world. They were welcomed at our “spaceport” by a hostess styled as a futuristic stewardess, while staff wore bespoke uniforms inspired by Kubrick’s vision. Walkabout performers, DJs, and extra-terrestrial acts added energy and surprise throughout the evening.
The night’s standout moment was a bespoke Space Opera — written by Georg himself and brought to life by dancers and actors. This personal and theatrical finale turned the celebration into an unforgettable performance, perfectly balancing creativity, emotion, and entertainment.

The Retro Space party at The Belvedere wasn’t just a birthday — it was a fully immersive journey through past, present, and future, proving that with imagination, even a restaurant in Holland Park can be transformed into another galaxy.
