MARIE ANTOINETTE meets VALHALLA
When the Vikings storm Versailles, silk turns to armor and etiquette to instinct — beauty trembles, and chaos wears a crown.
The Savage and the Decadent
This celebration was created for a dear client of ours — someone who takes birthdays seriously, and whose friends do too. This year, the chosen theme was powerful and unapologetic: Vikings. But the question was, how do we make it uniquely special?
We decided to clash two completely different worlds — the raw, brutal energy of the Vikings and the opulence of Rococo — creating a universe built on contrast and beautiful controversy. Our imagination ran wild: what if Vikings stormed Versailles? What would survive, what would transform, and what kind of aesthetic would be born from that collision?
It took us a month to refine the concept, two weeks to source the most exceptional pieces and details, and three intense days to bring it all to life. Every element was carefully curated and handpicked — from linens and antique candelabras to the tableware — each layer contributing to the story.
Our main hall - the before.
To create a soft, cloud-like texture, we layered three different fabrics. We used red amaranth to mimic the effect of blood dripping from the antique candelabras.
All the guests understood the assignment perfectly and arrived dressed as if Marie Antoinette had been born a Viking, or Ragnar Lothbrok had fallen under the spell of a palace princess — brocade corsets paired with furs, powdered wigs meeting leather harnesses, pearls layered over armour. The collision of eras was bold, theatrical and completely effortless.
This evening had it all: a fusion of cuisines that blended Nordic fire with French indulgence, cocktails playing with ice and flame, and a decadent cream cake crowned with an animal skull as the ultimate statement piece. It was hypnotic, ironic, and sensual.
